11.11.2023– I married my best friend, my person, and my husband, Brandon! And now I’m a Huffman!
Now, I don’t typically post my personal life on this domain (it’s always been a goal of mine to start documenting personal milestones and treat this like a journal to start the digital hoard!), but I knew I wanted to document this milestone for several reasons. First, to of course introduce the blog-o-sphere, to Brandon. Second, to create a portfolio around the stationary I created to bring the M & B brand to life, including the planning process. And third, memorialize some of these amazing photos by our photographer, Amber Mae Photography!
So this is Brandon! We met on Bumble in 2021, it was love at first swipe. He had our dog Dexter in his profile and won me over by sending tons of photos of Dex to me. We quickly bonded over our love of video games and technology, DIY hobbies, and similar professional backgrounds.
Brandon currently works as an IT contractor for the Navy, combining his love for computers with his US military service as a Marine. So while we’re both in IT, we have very different jobs, which is honestly crazy to think about. Brandon works more with hardware components while I work with software and servers through web hosting.
If Brandon isn’t playing a video game, he’s at the gym, working on a 3D print project (some of these made it in the wedding!), showing off his car, or cooking!
Designs
Almost immediately after getting the ring on my finger (and celebrating with family of course), I registered a couple of domain names (very fitting, I know), fierrohuffman.com and meredithhuffman.com. It’s all about the web presence, right? I wanted to design my website for the wedding incorporating an online registry. I didn’t want to use the website builders like Zola, The Knot, or Minted. It had to be in WordPress
Now don’t get me wrong, these site builders are so handy for couples that might not know about web design! I wanted to go a different route to work with WordPress and Elementor in particular. And fierrohuffman.com was created!
After the website was finished, I needed to start with stationery! First, I had the Save the Dates. I worked through Canva to print most of the designs, particularly the Save the Dates, Invitations, and stationary for the actual wedding day. Check out some below!
3D Prints
I knew Brandon would have wanted to create some of the decorations for the wedding too. I knew with his DIY skills he could use the 3D printer to create a few things! He printed out his groomsmen’s gifts, Imperial Commando helmets from the most recent season of the Mandalorian. Then he created our wedding cake topper and the table numbers!
Photos
After getting our photos back, I’m finding myself scrolling through every moment again and again as they were captured so well. Some highlights:
So welcome to the blog Brandon, I cannot wait to see where we go together in our life!
