Eye on Bath

First week of classes are done! I've just started my second week, so I definitely am adjusting to the new way of teaching and enjoying some of them already. This semester I am taking; History of London, Museums and Galleries, Video Production, and Pixel Playground. History of London and Museums and Galleries really drew my attention when I registered for these classes because they are one part lecture and one part trips out into London as well, which is great for me because I want to explore as much of the city as possible. Last Wednesday we took a trip...Read More

Getting Oriented

Now that I am settled in London, I thought I would write about my area. My school is in the middle of Kensington, which is in the north west of London. Its just outside of Central London, on the northern side of the Thames river. Since I am in a completely new city, Google Maps and CityMapper have been my lifesaver this entire trip so far. I've found that just a quick search of where I want to go on these apps help get me on the right track and know where to go. I like to visualize where I'm going...Read More

The Sights of London

Well I finally have a little downtime after the craziness that's gone on in the past couple of days. So I thought I would share what I've been up to! Tuesday was my first full day in London, I arrived with the group on my flight around 09:30 and we were exhausted. After a quick meeting to get our bearings on the building, we got our room assignments. The room is great! Its definitely bigger than my room's in Randolph and Mason at Mary Wash but my room at Richmond is a hall bathroom style. And I'm on the fourth...Read More

Headed Off!!

So I'm off! I'm currently writing this from the plane headed to London. I'm super excited to head over, although it still hasn't hit me I'll be in the UK for roughly 5 months. I keep telling myself that this is actually happening, but for some reason it still hasn't sunk in. Now forewarning this post is gonna be a long one but bare with me, I want to talk about getting to London, and some other things I want to accomplish this semester within this blog. But every thing is going smoothly. After a (quick) 3 hour journey from...Read More

Where will Meredith be Next Year?

Hiya! It's been a while since I've written anything about my study abroad plans. So I definitely think its time for an update! So in my last post I talked about how I started to plan where I wanted to go in the Fall of 2015. It was between the AIFS Stellenbosch in South Africa, and the AIFS London program. Well since then there have been some changes to my plan. Ultimately these definitely needed to happen, so I was able to logistically make the study abroad happen. The first big change is that I decided switch semesters. Instead of going abroad...Read More

The Planning Adventure Begins!

Hiya! So this semester is off and running and not only is it a big one, I'm declaring my major in a few weeks, balancing my classes and working as a tutor for the Digital Knowledge Center, I'm also taking on a new adventure as well. What adventure? I'm planning my study abroad! I want to study abroad in the Fall semester next year (2015). I'm in the semester before I want to go abroad, I need to get on the planning bus! I haven't picked a specific program yet, but I've been brain storming and planning what programs I could...Read More
